Rule #1: Keep OS up-to-date and enable all native security functions.
- Upgrade Windows7 to Windows 10 since Microsoft will no longer support Windows7 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-7-end-of-life-support-information).
- Upgrade all end-of-support Linux/Unix systems.
Rule #2: Make sure one of the Antivirus programs is active and that it is up to date.
Rule #3: Install software only from a trusted source and keep up to date.
Rule #4: Don’t open files/links from unknown email or other sources.
Rule #5: Always use Google to access legitimate websites.
Rule #6: When you receive an untrusted email or message, DO NOT click any links within the email/message.
Rule #7: DO NOT trust popup notifications from the website.
Rule #8: Use redundant independent backup devices or servers to enhance your data protection.
Rule #9: Use two-step verification for your online banking if possible.
Rule #10: DO NOT save any card information after payments(websites/apps).
